Harris (L.) .. 3216 437 3653 Majority for Acland 1582 (1567 on preliminary count). Postal votes numbered 199, absentee votes 321 and declaration votes 15. ' The figures announced op polling day were:—Acland: Ordinary 4606, Service 304, total 4910. Harris: Ordinary 3006, Service 337, total 3343.
