PIG INDUSTRY.
PROPOSALS FOR STABILISATION. (P.A.) AUCKLAND, July 29. Advice concerning a substantial measure of stabilisation affecting tho pig industry was received from tho Minister of Agriculture (tho Hon. J. G. Barclay) to-day by Mr W. A. Phillips, chairman of directors of the New Zealand Co-operative Pig Marketing Association.
During the. next three years, the summer ami winter schedules for pigs will bo maintained, including the current season, also the top weight for bacon pigs of 1701 b. Payment foil porkers will continue for tho summer on the basis of head-on weight. The cost of pig foods will also bo maintained at current rates. These measures have been recommended by the Minister to the Stabilisation Committee and are expected to become effective.
