Continuing tlieir offensive against Sicily, Malta-based Bostons and Baltimorcs of the Tactical Air Force yesterday attacked Malazzo harbour and other communications, according to a message from the island. During the day Spitfires went on a sweep over the Straits of Messina. They encountered no opposition. On the previous night a Messer schmitt HO was destroyed by a Mosquito returning from an intruder operation over Southern Italy. The front in Sicily (according to the, latest- information) runs somewhat east and north of a line from .Defahl; to Pctralia, Alimena, Enna,. Ramacca, Dernardello, then along the Dittain.o River. ' ; The land situation shows very little change to-dav, according to 1 if'corrbs- ' pondent at Allied headquarters in North Africa. The Canadians, however, made a real advance, after fierce fighting, in rough, mountainous country, with German reinforced units, including the Herman Goering Division. —British Official Wireless.
