willowby-eiffelton meeting. The monthly meeting of the V illow-bv-Eiffelton Women’s Institute was hold in the Willowby Hall, the president (Mrs R. Pearce) presiding. The motto was “Let knowledge grow from more to more.” A vote of sympathy with Mrs S'. P. Taylor in her bereavement was carried in silence. Mrs ,T. R. Knox presented a cake to bo sent to a soldier. The roll call was. “Mv favourite savoury.” Mrs Hollow gave the Golden Thread, “A Maori Legend.” Mrs W. W. Avery gave, a talk on life in Now Guinea. Four dozen eggs were handed in for the conference sales table. Competitions resulted:—Bloom, Mrs H. Crossman 1, Mrs S. P. Taylor 2. Mrs M. Bill 3; violets, Miss H. Lill I, Mrs S. P. Taylor 2, Miss M. Lill 3; preserved vegetable, Miss H. Lill I, Mrs H. Oakley and Mrs Crossman (equal) 2, Miss I. Bratlcv J; facct'lotli for soldier’s gift. Mrs S. P. Taylor 1, Miss M. Lill 2;. Miss J. Taylor 3. Tho hostesses were Mesdames D. ShaW, E. Soal and H. Crossman.
