WILLOWBY CONCERT.
The Willowby Hall was well filled on on the occasion of a patriotic concert given in aid of Red Cross and Soldiois Parcels Fund by Mrs S. H. Fill’s concert party. Mr Cuncen (Ashburton) conducted au auction of gifts, which brought in a substantial sum. Supper was served, followed by a dance. Mis D. Shaw provided the music and Mr Stuart Mclntosh was M.C. The concert programme was: Vocal solos. Miss H. Brown (Ashburton); popular choruses. Misses F. Lattimore, N. Chapman, Mae Chapman, Margery Chapman, M. Crossman and E. Fill, the chorus soloists being Miss E. Fill and Miss N. Chapman; recitations, Miss C. Bill; sketch, “A Game For Two,” Mr and Mrs S. H. Fill; sketch, “The. Motor Ride,” Mr and Mrs S. H. Bill; play, “The Magic Spectacle,” Miami Mrs S. H. Bill and Mr R. J. Chapman; play, “The Proposal,” Mr and Mrs S. H. Bill and Mrs R. J. Chapman; character duet, Misses E. Bill and Mae Chapman.
Mrs J. R. Lattimoro (president of the local sub-branch of the Red Cross Society, presented Mrs Bill with a shoulder spray and thanked her for the concert.
