GIRAUD’S VISIT.
FRENCH UNITY DEMONSTRATED. (Roc. 11.45 a.m.) LONDON, July 5. It is announced in Ottawa that Gonoi a 1 Giraud is to visit Canada after his talks. A Washington correspondent says that General. Giraud',s Washington visit provided a remarkable demonstration of unity among Frenchmen in the United States. Prominent supporters of General Do Gaulle wore among the first to greet Generalo Giraud, and one of their spokesmen said they would give him the same allegiance as that given to General Do Gaulle. Air Cordell Hull (American Secretary of State) said to-day that lie hoped the State Department would soon he able to make an announcement about Martinique. He pointed out that as General Giraud’s visit was purely military, political questions could not he discussed with him.
