(Rec. 10.0 a.m.) PERTH, June 27. In an effort to join her husband, a beautiful Frenchwoman and her baby have fallen into Japanese hands. The woman, Mrs Gabrielle Lyon, and her baby, were evacuated to Australia before the fall of Malaya. For months she had no word of her husband, Captain lan Lyon, of the British Army, who was serving in Malaya. Then she received a cable stating he had escaped into India. Against advice Mrs Lyon boarded a ship to Nanking to join him. The ship was, captured by Japanese in the Indian Ocean. A few’ weeks later Captain Lyon arrived in Perth looking for his wife and baby.
