STEEL PRODUCTION.
DRIVE IN UNITED STATES.
(Rec. 12.10 p.m.) LONDON, June 27
A drive aimed at the production of an additional supply of 2,000,000 tons of steel during the last half of 1943 has been announced by the chairman of the United States War Production Board (Mr Nelson).
The War Production Board estimates that the successful completion of this goal will mean the attainment of this year’s munitions production goals, and “perhaps the eventual shortening of the war.”
