A communique issued at Cairo says: “Our troops were yesterday in touch with the enemy between Agodabia and El Aglieila. There was no large-scale air activity yesterday in the Libyan battle area. Our heavy bombers on Tuesday night again attacked Tripoli, hitting targets near the Spanish Mole. “Our torpedo-carrying aircraft on the same night successfully attacked north of Sicily a large south-bound merchantman, which was left stationary and down at the stern. “Bizerta was heavily bombed and bursts were seen on the waterfront and across tho quays.

“Our fighter-bombers yesterday raided Gela airfield, in Sicily, hitting buildings. > “In an attack on enemy shipping off Misurata direct hits were scored on a merchantman. “There was some air activity neat Malta yesterday hut no aircraft succeeded in crossing the coast.

The Air Ministry states: “Coastal Command Hudsons, in bad visibility yesterday afternoon, bombed enemy shipping off the coast of Holland, a Coastal Command Hampden last night torpedoed a supply ship off the coast ot Norway.
