TENNIS.
The report of the Ashburton Lawn Tennis Association, read at the annual meeting last evening, stated! that one women and 17 men belonging to the club were serving in the Armed' Forces. One member had died of wounds over-
seas, and another had been invalided home. It was decided to hold the opening of the season some time this month. The. following officers were elected: President, Mr. F. W. Seldon; vicepresident, Dr. W. R. Ryburn.; secretary and treasurer. Mr. T. Crooks; club captain, Mr. G. O. Nieoll; committee, Messrs C. G. Drury, J. W Pooley, C l . J. Bonnington, E. Wimsett, W. Wall. Mesdnmes F. W. Dickens,, and W. G. Todd, Miss G. Stewart; delegate to Ashburton Sports Association, Crooks and V. W. Russell : delegates to. Mid-Canterbury Lawn Tennis Sub-Association, Messrs Nieoll and Pooley.
