LABOUR FOR GERMANY
TRAINLOADS FROM FRANCE. LONDON, Oct. 7. The Vichy radio announced that 18 train-loads of French workers have gone to Germany since Laval’s recent appeal. A Vichy message states the Germans executed, 17 civilians at Lille after a court-martial at which they were charged with carrying arms and carrying cm Bolshevik activities. The Swiss radio reports that two bombs were thrown at Montpelier into premises occupied by collaborationists. Considerable damage w’as done.
ORDERS TO FRENCH INDUSTRY
(Roc. 12.35 p.m.) LONDON, Oct. 8. The Paris radio- reports that Laval received 2-50 industrial leaders in: Paris to “give them instiuctioos regarding the recruitment of labour for Germany.”
