AN INCREASE IN BRITAIN. (R-ee. 11.45 a.m.) LONDON, Oct. 9. The Chancellor of the Exchequer (Sir Kingsley Wood) stated in the House: of Commons that the average note circulation of the Bank of England up to September 30 this year was £786.000,000. The average in 1938 was ' £4B6,ooo,ooo.—British Official Wireless.
