Lodge • Aleeting.— At the monthly meeting of the Star of Ashburton, Loyal Orange Lodge, held in the Orange Hall on October 6, the installation of officers for the ensuing year took place, Bro. S. B. Ashburton Presbytery.—The quarterly meeting of the Ashburton presbytery was .held this morning, the Moderator (Rev. G. Aliller) presiding. 1 A discussion took place on the queistion of the disposal of the manse property at N Hampstead and the building of a manse at Wakanui. Air Alarshall said the congregation at Wakanui was unanimous in the. opinion that the present manse should be sold and a new manse built on the 10-acre freehold property the church had at Wakanui. It was decided to grant -the request oil the understanding that a substantial reserve be placed on the property.
