STOCK EXCHANGE BAN.
ACTION IN AUSTRALIA. ' "u&'Vg’, CANBERRA, October There will be no further general revisions of stock exchange prices while the war situation remains critical, the Federal Treasurer (Mr J. B. Chifley) announced to-day. Mr Chifley indicated that in special circumstances revision of the prices of individual stocks may be permitted, but this will be done only on the authority of the Treasury after consideration of special representations made by a stock exchange. The reason for this action is stated to be that the Government feels that a continued upward movement of stock exchanger prices js undesirable.
