HIGH SCHOOL CHOIRS.

INTER-HOUSE COMPETITIONS. Inter-house choir competitions were held at the Ashburton High School yesterday, the judge being Dr. N. Griffiths, of Canterbury College. Results were very close in both boys and girls’ sections. Hogg House; with 75 points, won the boys’ section, Buchanan received 73 points and Tennent 72 points. The test piece was “The Lincolnshire Poacher.”

In the girls’ section Tennent House received 148 points, Hogg 138 points and Buchanan 133 points. The test piece was “Golden Slumbers.” In addition the girls presented an own selection. Tennant chose “Tales From Vienna Woods”; Hogg, “Early One Morning”; and Buchanan, “Oh, to be in England.”
