(Rec. l'a.m.) MELBOURNE, Apl. 21. “The tide is now turning,” said the Minister for the Army (Mr F. M. Forde) to-day, commenting on the growing intensity of the Allied air offensive against the Japanese bases in the South Pacific war zone. Though it would be a long war, he added, the Allied preparations for carrying the war to Japan were well advanced. A full-scale offensive would be undertaken in good time, perhaps earlier * than many people expected, and when it was launched it would be a startling spectacle.
