PARTIAL AMPUTATION.
HAND CAUGHT IN MACHINE When his left hand was caught in the wheel of a carding machine at the Ashburton Woollen Mills shortly after 6 o’clock this morning,, Mr Percival Hitchins, of 65 Winter Street, Ashburton, an employee of the firm of Lane, Walker and Rudkin, received injury. He was admitted to the Ashburton Public Hospital suffering from severe lacerations of the left hand and forearm, necessitating partial amputation of the hand. His condition is reported to be satisfactory.
