THE WEATHER.
RAIN FALLS AGAIN TO-DAY Light rain continfled throughout the night and to-day, but the showers became less frequent in the afternoon. Up to 9 o’clock this morning 49 points had fallen. The maximum and minimum temperatures yesterday were 58.1 and 49.2 degrees compared with 68.2 and 56.5 on Thursday. The barometer to-day stood at 29.94 inches compared with 29.81 yesterday. TO-DAY’S FORECAST, (P.A.) WELLINGTON, This. Day. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru is as follows: Moderate easterly winds predominating. Cloudy, with occasional drizzle or rain to-day, improving to-morrow. Cool to moderate temperatures. Further outlook: Fair.
