THIRTEENTH WEEK.
NATIONAL SAVINGS QUOTA. Ashburton for the thirteenth week lias received its National Savings quota of £BB2 for the week. The required sum was obtained this morning. The pennant, which was damaged by the north-west gales, has not been returned from Christchurch, where it is being repaired, but the money ball has been hoisted to the top of the pole. “So far the town residents have invested the larger amount of money in the scheme,” said the secretary of the Ashburton National Savings Committee (Mr H. Xj. Stone) this morning, “but it is hoped that now the harvest is coming in, the farming community will come forward and invest a. greater amount.
