WELLINGTON RACING CLUE TO-MORROW'S PROSPECTS. The Wellington Racing Club’s summer meeting will be concluded tomorrow with another big programme. Provision has been made to run two races in divisions, blit this arrangement will probably ns>t be necessary in the case of the Trial Plate field, which is two above the limit. Included are several horses with other engagements. The weather has been fine since the week-end, and the track should be in excellent order. YEARLING SALES. HIGHEST PRICE, 000 GUINEAS. WELLINGTON, Jan. 22. The sixteenth annual sale of bloodstock was held at Trentham to-day. There was :||i unusually large attendance. The olfering generally was considered the most attractive submitted for many years. Although there were several withdrawals, 80 lots were sold, with very few passings. The proceeds amounted to 14,854 guineas, an average of 185 guineas, a very satisfactory result in face of prevailing conditions. The highest price was 900 guineas for a colt by Foxbridge, the buyer being Mr W. S. Goosman, M.P., who also paid 600 guineas for a sister to Fearless Fox; a good winner in Australia. The same buyer paid 480 guineas for Salutation’s brother, which sum was considered very reasonable on the day’s market. . The second biggest price was 7W guineas for a colt by Bulandshar from Roman Scandal, an Australian-bred mare. The buyer was Mr J. A. McDougall, of Martinboroiigli. The horse is likely to be trained at Riecarton.
