DUNEDIN “BLACKOUT.”
FAILURE OF FIRST MAGNITUDE. (P.A.) DUNEDIN, January 22. A devastating reporf on the Dunedin blackout on Sunday night lias been furnished by the officer flying the aircraft. stating that, the test could only be called a. tailure of the first magnitude. He said that the Port Chalmers area, was effectively blanked out, bur the city and suburbs were so well illuminated Hint from a distance of 15 miles any pilot would have known their position.’ There were many cases of torch flashing and headlights on ears. The Mayor expressed keen disappointment,' stating that at the next approaching test the police would strictly enforce the regulations.
