SUPPLY COUNCIL.

DUTCH EAST INDIES JOINING. \ ' CO-OPERATION IN THE PACIFIC. (Ree. 10.5 n.m.) LONDON, Jan. 21. A further step toward complete cooperation of the Allies in the Pacific is seen in London in the announcement that the Netherlands Government lias decided on the immediate participation of the Netherlands East Indies as an associated member of the Eastern Group Supply Council, and has ap pointed as its representative Mr Welter, formerly Netherlands Minister for the Colonies, who is about to proceed to the headquarters of the council at Delhi.

Among other tilings, the council has been instrumental in stimulating a remarkable rise in the output of munitions in New Zealand. Australia, India and South Africa. The association cf the Netherlands East Indies in the work of the council will complete the pooling of resources and joint action to meet military requirements in the eastern group. It is a logical recognition on the supply side, as the appointment of General Sir Archibald Wav cl 1 on the co-operation side, of the identity of interest between the Dutch and British in the face of the common enemy.
