Mr and Mrs W. IT. Amos left to-day for Dunedin, where they will spend a fortnight’s holiday. Mi ss V. Mclntosh /of the Ashburton Voluntary Aid Detachment, left to-day for six months’ duty at Hnnmev Military Hospital. Mr William Fox Longloy Ward has been re-appointed Acting-Governor of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand, for a term of three months, commencing on February 1 next, according to an announcement in a “ Gazette” issued last night. Mr C. F.'. Featherstone, for many years on the staff cf the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, and latterly stationed at Rakaia, lias accepted the position of' chief auctioneer with the New Zealand Farmers’ Co-operative Association, Ashburton, and will take up his duties here on February 2. Mr F. H. Hatton, who has been the auctioneer for the Farmers’ Co-operative Association at Ashburton for six years, has been appointed to a similar position with the Loan Company at Christchurch,
