A Berlin message says that Hitler awarded General von Rommel the Oakleaf with Swords, equivalent to Knight Gross of the Order of the Iron Gross “in recognition ot his defensive \ ictory in North Africa against a larsuperipr enemy, whereby he frustrated British and American intentions.”
