SECOND NURSE CAVELL
FRENCHWOMAN REACHES ENGLAND. (United Press Association—Copyright.' LONDON, January 20. Mrs Yvonne Roberts, a Frenchwoman married to an Englishman and called a second Nurse Cavell for planning the escapes of hundreds of Frenchmen in the last war and this war, has arrived from France to join the Free French. The Germans captured and sentenced her to death in the last war but the King of Spain successfully intervened. Mrs Roberts was in charge of hospital trains in France at the beginning of the present war and after the collapse of France she worked ceaselessly for eight days and nights evacuating babies from Paris to Bordeaux. Mrs Roberts lias since aided the escape of hundreds, of persons from France. She said that French peasants help anyone making a bid for freedom although the penalty was death for the whole family.
