WOOL APPRAISALS. THE SOUTH CANTERBURY CLTP. TIMARU, This Day. The third South Canterbury wool appraisement of the 1941-42 season was completed on Monday, when 13,4-1-3 bales were appraised. Speaking generally, the wool opened up rather disappointingly, in some cases being off colour and not so well grown compared with the same appraisal last year. This is no doubt nocrunted for by the unfavourable weather experienced since the spring. Taking the foregoing conditions into consideration, prices were on a par and the appraisers paid special attention to the well-classed clips. The following is the official range of

prices: Merino—Extra super to super 17d to 18|d, average 141(1 to 161 cl, inferior lid to 14d. Fine Half bred 06-08—Extra super to 17jd, super lod to 16£d, average 14d to lod, ordinary to l'3jd. Medium Halfbred 50-56—Super 15d to 16d, average 13d to 14^d. Fine Crossbred 48-50—Super 14d to lod, average 12d to 13-Jd, ordinary lid to 12d. Medium Crossbred 46-48—Super 13£d to 14|d; average 12cl to 13R1, inferior 10Id to llfd. Pieces—Merino 12d to 143 d, halfbred 9Jd to 13|d, crossbred Ski to 12d. Bellies—Merino 10|d to 14d, halfbred 9d to ll!d, crossbred 8d to 10ld. Locks—Merino 5d to 7d, halfbred 5d to 6fo, three-quarter-bred 4d to 6d.
