MEDITERRANEAN ACTION.. LONDON', Jan. 19. The announcement that a British submarine has sunk an enemy U-boat in the Mediterranean recalls the fact that Lieutenant-Commander A. F. Wilmot, the commander, has now been engaged in. three successful Mediterranean operations. The first was the sinking of a 15,(100ton Italian troop transport, and the second a successful attack on an Italian destroyer. . On the third occasion the British submarine was sailing close to the shore on a pitch-black night, when the enemy craft .was sighted. In spite of the darkness, all the British submarine’s guns went into action in a few minutes, and with the second round oi fire a direct hit Was scored.
