IN THE EAST INDIES.
HEAVY RAIDS BY THE ENEMY. ONLY SLIGHT DAMAGE DONE. (Rec. 10.5 a.m.) LONDON, Jan. 20. A communique issued at Batavia says: “Yesterday morning, about lo o’clock, Sabang was heavily raided Tor about 40 minutes by six enemy bombers. The main objectives were town and harbour. Two persons were killed and JO wounded. There was only slight damage. At Siebolga, on the west coast of North Sumatra, one Japanese bomber dropped a few bombs in the bay and machine-gunned the Customs Buildings. The bombs missea their mark while the damage to property was insignificant. One person was killed and two wounded. Aircraft of the Royal Netherlands Navy yesterday attacked the aerodrome at Kuching, inflicting damage on " the aerodrome and causing fires.—British Official Wireless.
