THE WEATHER.
COOL NORTH-EAST WIND. A cool north-east wind blew strongly in Ashburton to-day. Conditions were bright and sunny this morning, but later the sky became overcast. Maximum and minimum temperatures yesterday were 64.4 and 43. S degrees, compared with A 7.3 and 37.0 degrees on Monday. The barometer to-day stood at 30.04 inches, compared with 30.32 inches yesterday. TO-DAY’S FORECAST, (P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru is as follows:
Moderate to strong north-easterlv to northerly winds. Weather fair to line and milder. Furthep outlook: Mainly fair.
