SINGAPORE BOMBED.
JAPANESE LANDING IN MALAYA. BANGKOK ALSO RAIDED. (Rec. 2.0 a.m.) LONDON, Dec. 8. The Singapore correspondent of the British Associated Press reports thht 300 Japanese troops landed at Padang Sabek, which is 13 miles south of Kota Bharu. Two bombs fell in the centre of Singapore and others elsewhere, doing slight damage. Gunfire is reported off Mersing, on the east Malayan coast 90 miles from Singapore. % A Hudson plane scored a direct hit on a barge full of troops in the Kelatin river. The “Daily Express’ reports that Bangkok was bombed from the air and shelled from the sea. Ten ships are reported to be off Bangkok.
