VERY HEAVY RAID.

CHERBOURG HAS FULL WEIGHT. OTHER TARGETS IN GERMANY. LONDON, December 1. Britain’s air offensive was continued last night, when strong forces of bombers attacked enemy ports. Cherbourg felt the full weight of the raid, more than 150 tons of bombs being dropped on it. Large fires were left burning in the bright moonlight. Emden, too, was singled out for a powerful attack, and other targets included Bremerhaven, Wilhelmshaven, Lubeck and Kiel. Mines were laid in enemy waters. Nineteen British planes failed to return. This is the heaviest loss since a month ago, when 37 machines were lost, mainly through freak weather.
