THE WEATHER.
LIGHT RAIN FALLS TO-DAY. Light rain fell in Ashburton to-day, the temperature becoming cooler as the day advanced. The maximum temperature yesterday was 75.3 degrees compared with 08.2 degrees of the previous day. The minimum temperature yesterday was .54.-5 compared with 44 degrees on Sunday. The barometer stood at 29.51 inches this morning, compared uith 29.67 inches yesterday. TO-DAY’S FORECAST. (P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru is as follows: Winds turning to moderate or fresh south-westerly. Weather cloudy with some brief showers. Temperatures rather cooler. Further outlook: Weather improving again with westerly to northerly winds predominating.
