MORALE DECLINING.
EFFECT OF TREMENDOUS LOSSES CONDITION IN GERMAN ARMY. (United Press Association—Copyright.) ' LONDON, Nov. 30. A Soviet communique reports: “Fighting continued during the night on all fronts. Soviet troops evacuated Tichvin, 120 miles east of Leningrad, after several days’ Heavy fighting. After giving details of the exploits of Red soldiers the communique adds that as a result of the stubborn resistance by the Red Army and the enemy’s tremendous losses the physical and moral condition of the German troops is rapidly declining. As evidence of this it quotes, a prisoner’s statement that soldiers of the Tenth Tank Division were promised that if they took a certain village they would be allowed to go home—a promise which was of course broken.
Other reports from Russia speak of continuing advance west of Rostov to ward Taganrog and successful resistance in the Moscow sectors.
