MIDDLE-WEIGHT WORLD TITLE
ZALE OUTPOINTS ABRAMS NEW YORK, November 28. The muddle that has characterised the championship of the middle-weight division for 10 years was cleared up to-night, when Georgie Abrams met Tony Zale, in a 15-round contest at the Madison Square Gardens for the world title. Zale beat Abrams on points.
Zale was recognised as champion by the National Boxing Association, while Abrams, was the New York State Athletic Commission’s nominee as leading challenger.
Both now recognise Zale as cham pion of the middle-weight division.
