PARISH FESTIVAL.

St. Andrew’s Church, Tinwald, held its annual Parish Festival over the week-end. On Saturday afternoon the Sunday school children were entertained at tea in the hall. The birthday cane was cut by the superintendent (Miss M. Jennings) and the candles were lit by the two eldest members of the Sunday School and blown out by the two youngest. Games were enjoyed. During the afternoon a short service was held in the church when the children presented their annual birthday gift to the church. The festival was concluded yesterday At the children’s eucharist conducted by the Rev. H. H. Fountain a short play was presented by the chilaren and in the evening the Rev. R. Schollar (New Brighton) was the preacher. The choir sang the anthem “Hail Festival Day.” Mrs Scales was organist. After the service tlie congregation adjourned to the Parish Hall, where supper was served. 'Miss Betty Millichamp sang a solo, and Miss M. Jennings and Miss Millichamp a duet.
