WEDDING GIFTS.
PRESENTATIONS AT LAURISTON. A successful and enjoyable gift evening was held in the Lauriston Soldiers’ Memorial Hall on Saturday evening in honour of Miss Isobel Letham and Miss Bernice Maidens, who are shortly to be married. The evening took the form of a dance, music for which was played by Mrs Lawrence (Methven). Mr F. Hampton was the master of ceremonies. Miss L. Letham assisted by Mr W. Honeywell and Miss B. Maidens assisted by Mr W. Crozier, opened many parcels containing a large range of valuable and useful gifts from their many friends. Mrs J. A. Mackie on behalf of the Lauriston Women’s Institute, handed a gift to Miss Letham, expressing the best wishes of members. Mr J. A. Mackie spoke of the good qualities of the guests, of honour and wished them a happy future. The chairman (Mr C. A. Fyfe) on behalf of all present wished the guests future health and happiness. Misses B. Maidens, I. Letham and Messrs W. Crozier and W. Honeywell briefly thanked all for the good gifts.
Musical honours and cheers concluded a very pleasant evening.
