TEMPERANCE UNION.
TINWALD ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Tinwald Women’s Christian Temperance Union was held in the Methodist Church. The District President (Mrs W. H. Robinson) presided and led the devotional s. Reference was made to the passing of two loyal and devoted workers, Mesdames Hight and Bayliss. The reports of the various branches of the Union’s work showed a creditable year’s working. The election of officers resulted:President, Mrs Mcllroy; vice-presi-dents, Mesdames Jennings, Hopwood, and Stevenson; secretary, Mrs Oakley; treasurer, Mrs Harkness; White Ribbon agent, Mrs A. Wakelin; Seaners Department, Mrs Luxton; Maori Department, Mrs McKay; Cradle Roll superintendents, Mesdames Wakelin and Harkness; Band of Hope superintendent, Mrs Stevenson. Afternoon tea was served by Mrs G. Wakelin.
