ENTERTAINMENTS.

ST. JAMES THEATRE. “NORTH-WEST MOUNTED POLICE” • Starring Gary Cooper and Madeleine Carroll, and boasting .a supporting cast headed by a long list of stars including Paulette Goddard, Preston Foster, Robert Preston, Akim Tamiroff and Lon Chaney, Jr.,. Cecil B. DeMille’s production in technicolor of Paramount's “North West Mounted Police,” is now at the St. James Theatre. Set in the period when Canada was threatened by a Civil War of its own as thousands of half-breeds revolted against the government, the picture relates a magnificent story of the courage which made the North West Mounted one of the most respected forces in the world. It tells the love stories of two Mounted Policemen —one in love with a gallant nurse, and the other fascinated by an Indian girl who is about as tame as a tiger. Thrilling incidents mark every reel of the film. Performances will be given to-night, on Tuesday at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., and finally on Wednesday night.
