PARCELS FOR WAR PRISONERS. WARNING TO NEXT-OF-KIN. (P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. A statement by the chairman of the Prisoners-of-War Inquiry Office draws the attention of next-of-kin to the fact that many forbidden articles have been included in parcels for prisoners, of war. Those include coloured civilian, trousers and lumber-jackets. Parcels may contain only cake, tinned barley sugar, and five-penny international coupons. It is stated that the forbidden articles will be taken out of parcels and disposed of by the Order of St. John and the Red Cross Society at its discretion In view of the fact that many of tin l parcels were the first from next-of-kin, leniency has been shown, and the items are being returned to the senders’. In future forbidden articles will be forfeited bv the sender.
