MAILS AND PARCELS.
DEAD AND MISSING AIRMEN. k (P.A.) WELLINGTON, August 6. Tlio .procedure* adopted liy the Now Zealand High Gommissioner’s Office in London in dealing with correspondence and parcels addressed care of that office to New Zealand Air Foret! personnel who are reported missing or killed’, was mentioned by the l Minister of Defence (the Hon. F. Jones) to-night. The Minister said that if a. man was reported killed, letters were returned to the senders immediately, and it missing, the letters were held for three months and then returned. If an individual was reported a prisoner of war, letters were sent on as soon as a, definite address was given. In the case of parcels,'those containing food, comforts and woollen goods were sent to the New Zealand War Services’ Association for distribution if the individual was reported killed, hut when the individual was reported missing, the parcel was held for three months and then sent to the Association. Senders of parcels could rest assured that if it was found that a. package contained anything of a personal nature it would be returned to the sender.
