THE NEW BOMB
GREAT DESTRUCTION CAUSED. BRITAIN’S LATEST MISSILE GERMANS SEARCH FOR SECRET (United Press (Rec. 12.15 p.m.) LONDON, Aug. 6. The Germans are trying desperately to discover tlie secret of Britain’s new powerful bomb, which is causing such devastation in Germany, reports the “Daily Telegraph’s” correspondent at Lisbon. ' * A traveller from Berlin told the correspondent that at one spot Berlin War Office experts spent' days searching in the debris for fragments which would give a clpe to the construction and nature of the bomb. The traveller said that the building in which he lived was shaken to the foundations by a bomb which fell half a mile away. This bolrih blew off the roofs of houses and smashed windows Over a radius of 600 yards.
The Royal Air Force raids on Germany have bsen so severe that the whole of the Black Forest holiday areas are crowded with evacuees from th Ruhr arid the Rhineland.
