THE FIRE BRIGADE.
AUXILIARY AT WOOLLEN MILLS. NEW HOSE NOT YET TO HAND. An auxiliary fire brigade is being formed at the Ashburton Woollen Mills and its members will receive instruction from the Ashburton Volunteer Fire Brigade, it was reported at* the monthly- meeting of the Ashburton Volunteer Fire Brigade last evening. Fireman J. Smith was .appointed delegate to the Ashburton Table Tennis Association. It was decided to forward further parcels to members serving overseas. It was reported that the new hose had not been received yet. The arrangement of social evenings for the auxiliary firemen was left to the social committee. Additional fire protection for the Ashburton Public Hospital was discussed and the matter was left in the hands of the Superintendent (Mr xi. Hcfford). It was reported that the doors of the fire station required alterations.
