WAIPIATA PATIENTS.
' y iT Ui s, ’*i’ Tf| y|C MEETING OF THE COMMITtEE, ■- ; p. v; 4 y-;7 The Waipiata Sanatorium Committee met at Dunedin last week. The chairman (Mr E. MacDonald, of Fairlie) presided and Mr W. Bryant represented the Ashburton Hospital Board. The medical superintendent (Dr. A. Kidd) reported that during June, 21 patients liad been admitted, 15 were discharged, one had died, and 135 were in the institution at the end of the month, the majority of whom were doing -well or improving. He recommended as suitable for admission eightpatients from Southland, one from South Canterbury, one from Maniototo and one from South Otago, a total of 11.
The secretary reported that on July 26 the Associated Boards had patients in the institution as follows: Southland 68, South Canterbury 21, Ashburton 9, Waitaki 11, South Otago 11, Vincent 5, Maniototo 5, a. total of 130. Since the previous meeting 16 patients from five districts had been discharged and there was a waiting list of 12 from throe districts, the secretary reporting that five of these patients had been advised to proceed to the institution..
The secretary submitted statements of receipts and payments, showing that at June 81, there was a credit balance of £1782 7s Bd. Statements of receipts and payments for the three months, ended June 30, showed the actual mainreceipts as £246 8s lOd and the actual payments £464 3s Id more than the estimate. It w r as decided to hold the next meeting at Dunedin on August 26.
