TABLE TENNIS.
THE ASHBURTON ASSOCIATION. FIRST OFFICERS ELECTED. !>! Eight clubs have signified their intention of joining the Ashburton Table Tennis. Association, a meeting of which was held last, evening. Mr R. A. Collins, an enthusiastic supporter of the Mid-Canterbury Association in former years, was elected parroll, Mi; Cr. W. Murray president, Messrs W. Barrett, H. Hefford and M. L. Crequer vice-presidents, Mr E. Fai l secretary and treasurer, and 'Mr T. K. Watt auditor. The Management Committee will consist of the above officers with the addition of one representative front each club.
In recognition of his efforts in promoting this and other sporting activities, Mr A. Calder (Physical Welfare Officer) was elected an honorary lifemember of the Association. A meeting of the committee will be held next Week to arrange competition matches.
