AMERICAN CRUISERS.
TWO ARRIVE AT BRISBANE. UNEXPECTED CALL MADE. (United Press (Rec. 12.15) BRISBANE, This Day. Two United • States cruisers, each of 9000 tons, with a complement of TOO men, arrived here unexpectedly and unheralded yesterday. The visit is officially .stated to be part of a training cruise. The cruisers are Salt Lake City and Northampton. They are under the command of Rear-Admiral Sherwood Tafiinder. “We just dropped in for two or three days to get oil and provisions,” said Admire! Tafiinder, in an explanation of the ’visit. He added that as far as he knew Bfitbane Would be the only port of call, in Australia.
