VERY HEAVY GERMAN LOSSES.
MUST FACE SACRIFICES. WARNING BY BERLIN PAPER. LONDON, August 5. The Moscow radio quotes a report from Geneva that wounded Germans are being spread over German-occu-pied Europe. Eighteen to 20 train-loads of wounded a day are arriving in Germany. '
The German ‘‘Frankfurter Zeitung,” in a leading; article said: “Germany realises she must fight hard and face sacrifices before a decision in the east, but the defeat of Russia must be reached without giving Britain the satisfaction of knowing that it was achieved at the cost of the army’s complete exhaustion.”
The writer concludes: “A further extension of the war is unfavourable to Germany, therefore Germany is not interested in the problems dangerously piling up in the Far, East.”
