PRACTICAL, NOT THEORETICAL. BRITISH MEASURES OF CONTROL SERIOUS EFFECT ON SUPPLIES, (United Press Association—Copyright.) (Rcc. 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, Aug. 3. It is authoritatively announced that Britain’s consultations are still progressing with the other governments concerned regarding the application of far-reaching financial measures of control against Japan. There is no doubt that the operation of these measures is already practical, not theoretical, and that they seriously affect supplies for Japan.
JAPAN’S TRADE WITH THAILAND
BIG CREDIT IN TOKIO. (Rec. 9.30 a.m.) BANGKOK, Aiig. o. The Associated Press correspondent in Tokio reports that banking circles confirmed the previous announcement in Tokio of a credit of 10,000.000 balits to finance Japanese trade witli Thailand. The three banks are being assisted by government funds. It w T as explained that the Thailand-Japanese trade balance' in recent months greatly favoured Thailand, which has been selling large quantities of rice, tin and rubber to Japan.
