BRITISH SUBMARINE SUNK. NINETY-ONE OF CREW SAVED. (Rec. 12 noon.) LONDON, Aug. 4* An Italian communique reports that an Italian torpedo-boat sank the 'British submarine Cachalot, which was rammed and cut in half. Ninety-one members of the creAV Avere saved. The communique admits - the loss of an Italian submarine operating in the Atlantic.
