A YEAR OF PROGRESS.
LAURISTGN PRESBYTERIANS. : The annual meeting of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church j Lauriston, was presided over by the Rev. E. B. Stevenson, of Rakaia, the attendance of managers and members being good. Greetings were received from the Rev. D. B. Ashford, a former minister of the church. t / , The report read by the secretary (Mi* C. A. Fyfe), reviewed a year of harmony and definite progress. The treasurer (Mr R. F. Letham) presented the balance-sheet, which indicated that the finances’" were in a sound position. Mr J. A. Mackie (Sunday School superintendent) presented the report of the Sunday School, which revealed that with the assistance of Miss R. Letham, this very important branch of the church work was being carried on faithfully and successfully^ The Presbyterian Women’s Missionary Union’s report was, read by the Rev. E. B. Stevenson, and again, a very active year On behalf of mission work was Reported. The election of office-bearers resulted: Secretary, Mr C. A. Fyfe; treasurer, Mr R. F. Letham; managers, Messrs G. Lilley, J. A. Mackie, S. G. Lemon, G. Letham, J. Jacobs, C. Cone, R. E. Cairns J. G. Marshall, T. E. Doak, D. McFarlane, E. G. Haywatd and |T. C. McLacliiaii. 4 V Several items were dealt with under the heading of general business, including a lengthy discussion on the “maintenance of the ministry” proposals. At the conclusion of the meeting, slipper was served by the ladies.
