PHYSICAL WELFARE.

SUMMER SPORTS ACTIVITIES FOR THE WHOLE COMMUNITY (P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. In a statement to-day the Minister, of Internal Affairs (the Hon. W. E. Parry) said that New Zealand’s war effort was claiming much of the time of the official physical welfare officers in the training of leaders among the Home Guard, for general instruction of members of the various units. The expert services of tho Department’s officers would be needed continuously in connection with the war effort..

They would, however, be able to spare some time and energy in cooperation: with local and sports bodies, for the organising of satisfactory programmes of summer sport and recreation for the general community.
